Collect and Recycle

The WEEE man is an eye opener

Did you know that the average person buys 2.8 brand new electrical items every year? We live in a disposal world with technology developments making laptops, computers, tablets and mobile phones redundant within 18 months of release. Every year the amount of electrical waste in the UK increases by a staggering 5% and in lifetime, each person will generate over 3 tonnes of WEEE!

Our recycling centre sees hundreds of tonnes a month of waste electrical items and we achieve approximately a 98% recycling rate.

Having researched WEEE facts and figures for a number of years now, we think the best visual display of our ‘throw away’ age is the WEEE Man. Based at the Eden Project in Cornwall this monster was built to raise awareness to the public, retailers and manufacturers. You can check him out here http://www.weeeman.org/html/impact/about.html
