Fridge Freezer Recycling: Brewery Case Study
Brewery Fridge Recycling Case Study
Our team received an enquiry from a brewery in Nottingham, that needed help recycling around 40 fridge freezers of varying types. This included chest freezers, under-counter fridges, upright fridges and mini countertop fridges.
How Did We Help?
We provided a quick collection as requested, removing the WEEE and hazardous waste the following week. As fridge freezers are classified as hazardous waste, the equipment must be disposed of safely and securely. Whilst our business specialises in these waste types, we were able to provide a compliant and environmentally-friendly service for our customer.
On collection, the client was provided a hazardous waste consignment note (HWCN) which presents a full traceable audit trail for their materials. This shows various information including details on the waste and parties transporting and receiving the waste. It forms part of the waste duty of care to ensure hazardous waste is handled responsibly.
The Environmental and Cost Benefits
All of the waste we collect is recycled where possible, including fridge freezers being dismantled and recycled effectively. This ensures we can save raw materials in the production of products, and reduce the carbon footprint of our customers. With our help, businesses can dispose of their waste sustainably, ensuring minimal impact on the environment.
By partnering with Collect and Recycle, businesses can experience cost savings through avoiding traditional disposal method fees. They also mitigate the risk of fines through wrong disposal, that is critical when disposing of waste that can pose a threat to human health and the environment.
