B1. Payment terms
B1.1 Payment is required before collection unless prior arrangements are in place.
B1.2 All prices quoted exclude VAT, which will be applied at the current rate.
B2. Acceptance of proposal
B2.1 By accepting our quotation, offer, proposal, contract or service agreement, you agree to these terms and conditions.
B3. Waste presentation and responsibility
B3.1 It is the waste producer’s responsibility to ensure the waste is legally suitable for transport; any required repackaging will incur additional charges.
B3.2 Where applicable, all containers must be sealed, free of damage, and compliant with the Carriage of Dangerous Goods regulations, with no running liquids.
B3.3 All hazardous waste must be in appropriate UN-approved containers: liquids must be in bung top drums or sealed plastic UN-approved containers/IBCs with no leaks; powders and solids must be in clip top UN-approved drums.
B3.4 (a) Any IBCs must be less than 7 years old, and UN-approved plastic drums/barrels/bottles must be less than 5 years old for containing hazardous waste.
B3.4 (b) Any pallets must be of good quality, and strong enough for the weight being placed on them with items securely strapped/banded.
B3.5 It is the waste producer’s responsibility to provide the correct MSDS for all hazardous waste; incorrect identification will be deemed a Non-Conformance (NCR).
B3.6 If for any reason SDS/MSDS(s) are sourced by Plastic Expert Ltd t/a Collect & Recycle, it remains the waste producer’s responsibility to ensure these are correct before collection takes place. Incorrect identification is deemed an NCR.
B3.7 It is the waste producer’s responsibility to ensure the EWC codes are correct.
B3.8 All Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) presented for collection or disposal must comply with the following conditions:
(a) Pre-treatment: it is ILLEGAL to pre-treat WEEE. WEEE must not be pre-treated prior to collection. This includes, but is not limited to, the removal of cables, compressors, metal parts, printed circuit boards (PCBs), or any other components or materials of value. Any WEEE identified as pre-treated may be rejected, or additional disposal charges may apply. Any uplift in disposal costs resulting from such pre-treatment shall be payable by the waste producer.
(b) Contamination: All WEEE must be completely free from contamination. Contamination includes, but is not limited to, hazardous or biohazardous materials, liquids, oils, or any other substances that could present a risk to health, safety, or the environment. Contaminated WEEE may be refused or subject to additional charges.
B4. Delays and prevention
B4.1 Plastic Expert Ltd t/a Collect & Recycle is not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond its control.
B5. Non-Conformance Resolution (NCR)
B5.1 Non-conformance issues will be addressed within 21 days with the following options:
(a) Waste processed with additional charges applied.
(b) Waste returned to the producer with costs for transport, and associated charges.
B5.2 Producers have 3 working days to respond to NCR notifications.
B5.3 Failure to respond will result in waste disposal as outlined in the NCR, with costs invoiced to the supplier accordingly.
B5.4 It is the waste producer’s responsibility to ensure the correct type and quantity of waste is loaded for collection, not the driver.
B6. Waste hierarchy and reclassification
B6.1 Plastic Expert Ltd t/a Collect & Recycle applies the waste hierarchy (reduce, reuse, recycle).
B6.2 Waste may be reclassified as an asset for alternative up-cycling/re-use unless directed otherwise by the client.
B6.3 Items, products and goods collected with a production collection note will not be classified as waste. It is possible for these to be re-purposed; therefore a waste transfer note will not be issued.
B7. Data destruction
B7.1 Customers must erase all personal and confidential data from electronic storage devices before collection.
B8. Changes to technical information
B8.1 Any changes to supplied technical information may affect costs and be treated as NCR.
B9. Documentation and certification
B9.1 All statutory paperwork will be completed accurately.
B9.2 Part E documentation will be provided within 12 weeks of collection, and certificates of destruction will follow item destruction (where applicable).
B9.3 If a Certificate of Destruction is required, this must be stated prior to the collection. These cannot be obtained retrospectively.
B9.4 If a specific breakdown of multiple different waste streams by weight is required, this must be requested prior to the collection. These cannot be obtained retrospectively.
B10. Additional waste and new streams
B10.1 ONLY LISTED WASTE WILL BE COLLECTED. ANY ADDITIONAL WASTE MUST BE REQUESTED IN ADVANCE.
B11. Cancellations and waiting charges
B11.1 Cancellation within 48 hours of collection will incur a charge equal to the transport rate.
B11.2 Same-day cancellations will incur double the transport rate.
B11.3 Waiting charges of £100 plus VAT per hour apply after two hours on-site.
B12. Rebates and non-collection
B12.1 Abortive charges will apply.
B13. Contact restrictions
B13.1 The supplier must not contact disposal sites directly or engage third parties to acquire service-related information. Breaches may result in penalties.
B14. Invoicing and queries
B14.1 Invoices will be issued within 21 working days of collection completion.
B14.2 Suppliers have seven days to raise queries in writing via finance@plasticexpert.co.uk.
B15. Weight confirmation
B15.1 The final invoiced weight will be based on the disposal site’s weight ticket. The total weight of waste disposed of includes the weight of all packaging material, including but not limited to drums, boxes, IBCs and pallets.
B15.2 Suppliers are advised to weigh waste beforehand if unsure.
